To make an appointment please call the clinic directly:

  • Edina – 952-924-0199
  • Maple Grove – 763-315-1296

What should I expect the first visit?

We ask that you come 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to fill out paper work that is necessary to begin your treatment and to bill your insurance. You will be asked to read our history and privacy forms and supply the requested information.

What insurances are accepted?

Saunders Therapy Centers is a provider for nearly all local private health plans, state and federal government plans, and worker’s compensation plans. Call us or your insurance company if you have a specific question.

Please be aware that some insurances have several different plans and that insurances write plans with varying benefit levels for different employers. You should always check with your health plan for specific details about your coverage.

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • HealthPartners
  • Medica
  • Minnesota Medicaid
  • Medicare
  • PreferredOne
  • Railroad Medicare
  • Tricare
  • UCare
  • and others…

Do you automatically bill my insurance company for services?

Yes.

Your insurance company will be billed for all services. If you buy a supply that your therapist recommends we ask that you pay for this item first and then submit the bill to your insurance company to see if it will be covered.

Do I need a referral to be seen by a therapist?

Some insurance plans require a physician’s referral before they will pay for physical therapy services and some do not. We recommend checking with member benefits through your insurance program to determine what your plan requires.

Even if your insurance plan does not require a referral, or if you are paying out of pocket, Minnesota state law requires a referral 90 days after the initial physical therapy visit.

In addition to medical doctors, other health care providers that can refer to physical therapy include nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, chiropractors, and dentists.

Why does my bill say I owe a co-pay when I’ve already paid it?

Occasionally the billing office processes your bill before the payment on your co-pay goes through. This will be corrected on your next statement automatically.
