Q&A with Allison

Why did you become an OT?

I always knew from when I was a little kid that I wanted to help people. In 10th grade, I took a weekly class at Regions Hospital and Gillette Children’s Hospital where we got to be hands-on in the different departments including nursing, prosthetics, OT and PT. The day that we learned about OT, it was so obvious to me that that is what I wanted to do!

What can patients expect when they see you in the clinic?

I will be fully involved in everyone’s industrial rehab program. You’ll always get a smile from me. I want everyone to feel welcome and cared about.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do for fun?

My bowling league keeps me occupied over the winter. In the summer, I love gardening and hiking and you might spot me at a Twins or Saints game- season ticket holder here!

What are your favorite ways of staying healthy?

For physical health, I love hitting the gym and getting a good sweat going. For mental health, I try to meditate every day.

Where is your hometown?

Oakdale, MN

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

An elementary school teacher.

What is your favorite thing about living in Minnesota?

The four seasons! Fall is obviously the best.
