Craniosacral Therapy (CST) FAQs

What is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle hands on technique to restore normal position and motion of the bones of the skull, spine and sacrum, and to restore cerebrospinal fluid flow. Very light pressure is used in just the right spot to release flow restrictions, often resulting in immediate pain relief and restored motion.

Who performs Craniosacral Therapy?

Various practitioners can be trained in Craniosacral Therapy techniques. These include physical therapists, massage therapists, osteopaths, and others. An advantage of going to a physical therapist for treatment is that she can apply other manual therapy and exercise principles so that your treatment is very comprehensive compared to a massage therapist, and less expensive compared to osteopathy.

At what offices does Saunders Therapy Centers offer Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy specialization is currently offered in Bloomington and Saint Paul clinic locations. Marie Holecek, PT and Amy Molzen Stuke, PT have years of advanced training. Our other physical therapists at all locations incorporate some craniosacral techniques into their comprehensive approach.
